Think that Napa Valley is an adult's only vacation spot? Think again! There are plenty of fun family adventures awaiting you. We spent a week in Napa and found many activities to keep our family busy and happy.
This place is amazing! Delicious organic wines, kid friendly activities and a gorgeous outdoor area to explore. Be sure to book a tasting at Frog's Leap Winery.
Storybook Mountain Vineyards is our family's favorite spot in the valley. If you love organic rich reds especially zinfandels this is the spot for you. Fun fact: This vineyard was originally owned by the Brothers Grimm (legendary fairytale authors)
Organic wine, an outdoor tasting space and a food truck make Cliff Family Winery a great spot to bring kids along for a wine tasting.
Combine a wine tasting with a picnic at V Sattui Winery. The outdoor space has room for kids to play and there are many tasty offerings in the market for the perfect picnic.
Want to check out a classic Napa Valley winery? Beringer has a great self-guided tour/tasting that is perfect for families. You'll get to explore a wine cave, and play games in the garden all while enjoying some great wine.
Your kids will love exploring the castle and you'll love the sweeping views and wine selection. Castello Di Amorosa is fun for the whole family.
The public Library in downtown Napa has a charming Children's area. They host a preschool storytime on Thursdays.
Tuesday mornings a parking lot in Napa is transformed into a fun farmer's market.
Our favorite playgrounds in the area were Playground Fantastico & Fuller Park.
Whether you choose to enjoy them from above or simply on the ground, kids will love seeing Napa's Hot Air Balloons.
Napa Bookmine is a great spot to find a new treasured book.
This woman owned business is the perfect place to spend an afternoon. Wonderful wines to try, live music, play areas, fun outdoor seating options and more! Check out Feast It Forward in downtown Napa.
We found the Rebel Vintners tasting room while biking around downtown Napa. We chose an outdoor table which was the perfect place for us to try a flight of reds and for our son to play with some toys while people watching.
We love this market! Oxbow Market has great food options and fun shops the whole family will love.
Wood fired pizza, sandwiches, wine and outdoor games make Oakville Grocery a great place to grab lunch.
Bounty Hunter is located in downtown Napa. We love this fancy bbq restaurant, and always choose the outside tables.
Many wineries require reservations, so plan ahead and make sure you allow for plenty of time to travel between tastings as traffic can get backed up at times.
Not all wineries allow kids to accompany adults to their tastings. Make sure you do your research before booking your reservations. We had no problem finding great wineries with kids activities and even grape juice tastings available.
Small cars, coloring books, a tiny tin of playdough, wiki sticks, a puzzle book; these are a few of the activities we took with use to engage our son while we attended tastings.
When you're planning your day, include stops at the local playgrounds, farmers markets, walking/bike paths, local library and kid friendly shops.
We always check out the local events calendar before arrival to look for family friendly festivals, concerts, library storytime, plays etc.
Our family had so much fun biking around Napa, touring wine caves and being out in nature. These small moments added up to great memories. Try to pace yourself and enjoy these moments.
